In this Lesson we will be working with some special effects. What you need to know; be able to  work with layers, there are more than two images. And how to write the text on your finish fan art.   Save the images that you wish to use, and let's start. Let's start by selecting a new image, you can find this by clicking  File - New.  What size you choose depends on what you want to make. If you want to make a Wallpaper, then choose a bigger size. I set my background to red, you could use ant color you like.       I also added a few more layers to the project. Two to be exact. To add layers got to Layers and New Raster Layer. If you forgotten how to work with layers refer to previous fan arts lessons. Is important that you know how to identify the layer because we are going to give each layer a different color. The two layers will be in black and blue. Note, here we are working with layers so make sure you have the right image selected before doing anything with it. To select a layer find the Layer Palette and click on the right layer then work on it.

Once you added both layers and gave them each the colors, blue and black then you should have 3 layers, the background being red, then another layer black and the other layer blue. What I did was with the erasing tool, I erased half of the layers and the edges. It will look like this...

Is important that you select the right layer to erase half of it. Then select the other layer and erase half of it.  

Now is time to add the images you will be working with, in this lesson I want to introduce how to work with mirror images, so we will work with one image first then the next one. For this you will need the same picture added twice to your project. Copy paste the image 2 times like the picture below.

Then, make sure you pick the right layer to work with, then locate the DEFORM tool, is the second one form the top on the toolbar on the left side panel. Click the Deform tool and you should get an image like this one.

Locate the MOVER TOOL which is the one that looks like a cross the fourth one form the top. Click on it and you will see your mouse pointer turned into a cross, then position the cross on the right side middle square of the frame around the picture, leaving the mouse bottom press move the mouse to the left.

  This will flip the image so it will look like a mirror of the other image like so. I fixed like this. To move the images remember to use the tool that looks like 4 arrows. 

I also want to do the text the same way, mirror. And it works the same way as it did with the image. To do that just add text like we normally do  using the T tool.  Once you add the text converted to a Raster Layer. Then copy it, then paste it as a new layer on the same project, you will have the text twice just like you had the picture twice. Once you have the second text added and making sure you pick that layer to work with,  then use the Deform tool just like this...

Move the cross to whichever way you want to have another way for the text.

 This is what my final project looks like. I added the images, I made them mirror and I played with the transparency on the layer palette. I added the text then a mirror them.

The last thing I did was added an effect to the background called Buttonize. To do this effect is important that you have the background layer selected. The go as it shows on the image. Pick color and size and apply. If for some reason you do not like the result just undo it. :)
