Let's make a Valentine Postcard for Paul!
Here are some images for you to choose from.

To start with, open PSP and start a new file. Width will be
534 and height will be 391. This should make a nice postcard size. But you
can change the size if you want. Now lets add a background color. Find the
flood fill button on the left hand toolbar.
Now
select your color. (I'm not going to get into detail, since we've done this
stuff LOL) A suggestion-darker colors are going to use a lot more ink if
you want to print your postcard. ;-)
Now we're going to turn the picture you selected into a heart. First, we
need to make a heart. We're going to use shapes. The button is on the left
hand toolbar.
Using your tool options palatte,
find the heart shape. There are a few different ones, but we want the solid
ones. I'm using the fatter heart, but either one is fine.
Start a new file, and draw you heart by clicking and dragging. You can then
resize it by clicking and dragging the arrows. You want it to be big enough
that Roger will fit. ;-)

Once you have it the size you want, click on layers, and convert to raster
layer.
Now lets work with the picture of Roger. We want to crop and resize it so
it will fit in the heart. To crop the image, use the crop button on the left hand
toolbar.
To resize, click on image, resize. Then resize
by percentage of original. You can undo, and resize until you find the right
size that will fit your heart.
Now activate the image with the heart. Click on the magic wand button on
the left hand toolbar.
Now click on the heart.
There should be a dotted line (marching ants) around the heart. Now you
need to set your flood fill to pattern. On the right hand side where you
select your colors, click and hold down on the top color.

And choose pattern. A window will pop up for you to select your pattern.

Click on the bar next to the thumbnail view, and another window will pop
up with different patters. Scroll to the top, and there will be your picture of
Roger. Click it. Now click ok. Make sure you have clicked the flood fill
button, and that the heart image is activated. Now click on the heart, and it
should now fill with the image of Roger.

Now we are going to copy the heart and paste it on the postcard. Make sure
the heart image is activated, and go to edit, copy. Then activate the postcard
image, and go to edit, paste as new selection. There will be marching ants
around the heart, and you can move it to wherever you would like it to go.
Once you have it placed where you want it, right click to get rid of the
marching ants. Now lets decorate it!
In the Christmas lesson, we worked with tubes. We'll be using tubes again
now, so refer to the Christmas lesson if you don't know how to use them,
or need a refresher. Here are some Valentine tubes.

Decorate your postcard any way you like! And add text if you want!
Then save it as a jpg. Here's my finished product. It's pretty simple, but you
can do your any way you like.

You did it! Give yourself a pat on the back! And feel free to send your
postcard to any of the Lady Knights, and we can post it for you! Or you can
print it off to send to Paul yourself!
