In this Lesson we will be
working with some special effects.
What you need to know; to work
with layers, there are more than two images. And how to write the
text on your finish fan art.
Save the images that you wish to
use, and let's start.
(Note I'm sorry, I did not
realize I had my PSP program set to Spanish lol but everything is in
the same place, and the same just in Spanish)
Let's start by selecting a new
image, you can find this by clicking File - New then you will
see a window like the one below. What size you choose depends on
what you want to make. If you want to make a Wallpaper, then choose
a bigger size.
By now, you should know how to copy paste as a new layer the images
you chosen to the blank image, (if not then go back to Lesson 1).
Copy paste whatever images you will be using. You should get
an image as the one above. Once you get all the images in one place,
do not forget to give it a background color. (if you do not how to
do this refer to prior lessons)
Now, we need to resize the
images so we can have a good fit of all 3. Click on the third tool
from the top, and the image will have a border like the one shown
above, click with the mouse on one of the corners and while pressing
the mouse button move to make the image smaller.
Note, here we are working
with layers so make sure you have the right image selected before
doing anything with it.

Once you
resize the images they should look something like this.

Now, let's work with he brightness and contrast of
the images.
Make sure you have the right layer/image selected.
Then go to Colors - Brightness/contrast. It should be the first one.
In here we will set up some
characteristics like brightness and contrast. You may chose, as you like.
Mine is set to 55, so the image will
look brighter, as in the one above.
I fixed like this. To move the images
remember to use the tool that looks like 4 arrows.
Now I added one more image, and
as you can see in the layer palette, I have quite a few layers. Again, is
important that you know how to activate and de-activate the layers. Also,
you can tell I move the transparency level, so you can see the candles
through RH's face. (refer to prior lessons if you do not how to do this) I
also erase the top of the added image, since all I wanted was the candles.
Using the erase tool (looks like a eraser).
As you can see, the new image (the one
I just added) is in the back, to achieve this, first you must activate the
right image. (Usually when you place a new image on a document is on the
top) Once you have selected the right image then you go to layers and then
to order, (as seen in the image below) in there you will see; bring to
front, send to back. etc.. Do not use send to back, because it will send
it all the way to the back, and we want the background to be the last
layer, so just hit back, a few times until is the second from the bottom.
Once you have that, then let's give
the other two images some effects. Remember to select the right image
first.
Go to Effects, then to Texture Effects
and pick the first one.
In here you will get a window
(sorry lost that image) that will show it the effect. Is like a vertical
or horizontal window effect. Choose as you like it best. Press apply.
Remember there are two separate images so you have to do one then the
other one.
Then, once that effect is finish,
let's do one more. Remember to pick the right image.
Go to Effects, then to Texture Effects
and Pick Textile (last one).
You will get a window like this one, I encourage you
to play with it, until it looks the way you like it. Remember as long as
you do not press apply, there will be no changes.
Your image should look something like this (or not!
;})
Now, add text to it then you are done. Mine looks like this
Finish!!!!!!
Give yourself a pad on the back... you did a
great job!!
