Classic Howarth Series

The Following scenes take place after Todd has been apprehended at the Masquerade Ball, putting an end to his nearly year-long escape from Statesville Prison. Todd is angry and frustrated at the thought of going back to the place he hated so much. Meanwhile, Rebecca decides that she cannot be a part of Todd's life anymore because it is putting a strain on her relationships with Powell and other people in town. She goes to visit Todd in the Llanview lock up and confesses to him that she lied when she told him she did not alert the police that he was staying in Llanfair's garden shed. Todd is upset, but he understands why she did this and forgives her. Then, Rebecca tells him she cannot see him anymore. She says she will not visit him in prison, she will not call and she will not write. Todd is devastated as he watches an equally emotional Rebecca leave with Powell. When she is gone, he cries brokenly that he has lost the one person in the world who cared for him.

Todd is then placed into the custody of two of Llanview's finest to be transported back to Statesville via a squad car. At the same time, Marty Saybrooke prepares to take Jessica Buchannan and CJ Roberts to the mountains. In an ironic twist of fate, the police car carrying Todd and the car Marty is driving with the kids collide. Todd uses the accident to his advantage.......
