Classic Howarth Series

At this point in Todd's story he was at a very desperate point. He was pushed to his limits mentally, physically and emotionally by his efforts to elude capture at the hands of Llanview's Finest. After attacking Marty and accidentally killing her boyfriend Suede, Todd took Rebecca hostage and they escaped to his mother's old summer house by the lake on Mt. Joy. Rebecca was shocked and terrified that Todd would do such a thing to her, but her fear did not make her forget the glimpses of the good person she saw in him before. She found a picture of a young Todd with his mother at a Mt. Joy carnival and Todd admitted that that had probably been the happiest moment of his childhood. In the clips below, you will see how well Rebecca related to Todd and hear her make a startling admission to him that had a profound effect on Mr. Manning for a long time to come.

The clips then skip ahead to the scenes after Todd leaves Rebecca in the Llanfair Garden Shed after their first kiss. He goes to New York City and befriends an elderly blind woman who convinces him (without knowing the entire story, of course) to go back and reclaim his lady love. Todd risks his freedom, and nearly his life, to return to Rebecca in Llanview. He decides to make his presence known to her on the night of a masquerade ball held at the local university, and finds a discarded "Zorro" costume to disguise his identity to everyone else. The "Zorro" scenes are definitely some of the best of those Roger had as Todd with Reiko Aylesworth's Rebecca.
